Dr Scot Richardson, or Scot as he prefers to be known, is one of our founding doctors who created James Alexander Family Practice.

He originates from Newcastle but has been based in Hull since 2002. He graduated from the Hull York Medical School in 2008 and was part of the first year of doctors to graduate from this medical school.

He stayed in the area completing his General Practice training, whilst also working at Dove House Hospice.

Scot is passionate about general practice and family values but also has a keen interest in Palliative Medicine. He continues to do this work in the Community Palliative Care Clinic on Tuesday afternoons.

Scot is also medical lead for the Community Stroke Rehabilitation Service, providing medical support to patients in Rossmore Community Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.

Education and Training is something else that Scot is involved in through the practice and is the Educational and Clinical Supervisor for Year 5 Medical Students at Hull York Medical School, Imperial College London and King's College London.

Scot is the registered manager for our surgery with the Care Quality Commission.

Dr Raghunath along with Dr Scot Richardson is the founding doctor of our organisation.

Dr Raghunath trained in India but has been a healthcare leader in Hull for many years. He works regularly on Mondays for the practice. For the rest of the week he spends his time doing commissioning work, occupational health work and private medicals.

Dr Raghunath has been a board member for Hull Clinical Commissioning Group for the last 3 years since its inception in 2013, and has recently been reappointed for a further term.

He is also Director of Clinical Studies at the Hull York Medical School, overseeing all clinical placements the students have.

Dr Raghunath has a long career in medical education and continues to also teach GP Registrars and Foundation Year 2 doctors.

Private Medicals and Insurance work is carried out at the practice and he sees both registered practice patients and non-practice patients. Taxi Medicals can only be provided to patients registered at our surgery due to current legislation.
